New Blog Post Alert!
Our Heritage and Operations Coordinator, Aurora, has written a very insightful new blog post about the fascinating history of the building of Maryhill Burgh Halls. Aurora spent time researching all the contractors who came together between 1876 and 1878 to construct our beautiful building. You can read all about it on our website here: https://www.maryhillburghhalls.org.uk/blog
Glasgow Doors Open Days 2024
We are taking part in this year’s Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival, on Sunday 22nd September. The theme of this year’s festival is “We’re All Here”: Diversity & Diaspora. More details will be announced nearer the time, but we will be running guided tours of our building where you can learn all about its history, view some of our collection objects and look at our stunning stained glass. For details and information on the GDOD festival, see their website: https://glasgowdoorsopendays.org.uk
We Are Still Fundraising!
As a small charity, we often rely on donations and support from our community. We are currently running a fundraising drive and thanks to many generous donations, we have now reached an amazing 91% of our target. If you could spare anything at all to push us right to the £5000, it would be greatly appreciated. The link to donate can be found here: https://justgiving.com/page/mbht You can also set up a recurring donation if you think you can spare some change on a more frequent basis, or donate through the link on our website
We realise not every can afford a direct donation, but did you know you could also raise money for us while shopping online - at no extra cost to you? By signing up for free to Easy Fundraising or Give As You Live, your usual online purchases could generate additional donations for Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust. Just sign up for an account, check to see if your chosen retailer is participating, and ensure you click through to their site using the link on Easy Fundraising or GAYL. Your purchase will register and the retailer will donate a portion of your sale to us, at no additional cost to you.
